Process Insight

Invariant Process Insight is used to capture and aggregate process event data in near real time and provide an overview of the end to end enterprise business processes as it happens. Process insight is business activity monitoring done right. While most business process management (BPM) systems  track specific portions of processes designed to run within the tool, they fall short when it comes to capturing the complete life-cycle of the actual enterprise process. Most processes in large enterprises are complex and typically span multiple subsystems including legacy applications. With Process insight, you can collect events streams from various subsystems and get a up to the minute view into the state of the business process. 

Process Insight is built upon the Invariant Data Platform, which is designed to store and process large amount of data. It can be used for analyzing the process events, activity and metrics generated by enterprise business processes and systems. Controlling the business process ensures the smooth functioning of the business operations. But to control and optimize the process, you have to first identify the problem areas and bottlenecks. Especially, for high volume scenarios you need to make sure that the system does the bulk of the processing, while humans intervene only when needed. 

Process Insight continuously tracks data from key stages of all configured business subsystems. Key event metrics such as cases created, tasks to be completed and process bottlenecks can be shown directly in process flow, providing a clear snapshot of the state of the system for business managers. Time based filters allow you users to drill into a specific time period or go back in time and look at historical event data. With historical data, users can easily identify trends and make process changes accordingly. 

 Process Insight is designed to ingest change data from relational databases, message queues and filesystems. The process events are written out to an event log sink and then streamed onto Process Insight’s central repository for long term storage. The data is processed and key metrics are computed as events arrive. Rich Dashboards connect to the data store, allowing users to visualize business activity, task inventory and other events of interest.

The Angular dashboard framework, could be extended if users wanted a different view or a different Charting library. Secure REST APIs are also provided which can be used by developers to retrieve additional metrics of interest for use within their custom applications.

The current version allows you to connect a BI tool such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau into the process store and build custom visualization and reports as per your business needs.

Process Insight server is designed to run on Linux servers – CentOS, RedHat. The web user interface works with all modern browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge.
